Northfield Biodiesel Buyers’ Club is a going concern!

The Northfield Biodiesel Buyers’ Club came into being on January 19, 2006! Master woodworker Loren Larson displays the handcarved sign he made at his son-in-law’s (yes, that’s me) request.

The first batch of fuel (a winterized B47, or 47% blend of biodiesel with #1 petroleum diesel and an anti-gelling agent) was delivered by Chad (Ole) Olson of Farm Country Co-op in Wanamingo.

Farm Country had delivered the tank the day before.
It was moved into its resting place by a heroic moving crew consisting of my son Jakob (in the red coat), daughter Maia (black coat) and friends Mark, Max, Will and Riahl.

The 550-gallon tank was purchased by three founding members:

Chris Ludewig's first fill

and Bruce Anderson. This and other costs will be recouped by a membership fee paid by all buyers’ club members, who then are able to pump biodiesel as they need it, at Farm Country Co-op’s delivered price.

Biodiesel may be burned in any unmodified diesel engine. Go to the Northfield Biodiesel Buyers’ Club page for more information on biodiesel and how to become a member of the buyers’ club.
